Magnesium Elektron provides support to engineers & designers new to Elektron magnesium alloys. With 20% to 30% weight saving over aluminium, modern Elektron alloys can be sand cast, investment cast, machined and extruded into the required product. Surprisingly, at elevated temperatures, these Elektron alloys are also stronger than aluminium, which can lead to a solution that is both lighter and stronger than aluminium.
