2007 Titanium Symposium
The Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP), in association with NAMTEC and the Titanium Information Group (TIG) held the inaugural Titanium Symposium on 20th November.
The symposium featured high profile speakers from Titanium producers and end users. It presented an opportunity to learn about the Titanium industry from the perspective of various industry stakeholders. In addition it enabled attendees to share information and network.
In closing the Symposium, Tony Pedder (Chairman, AMP Advisory Group and Special Metals Forum) thanked the speakers for their excellent contributions to a very interesting day. He felt they had conveyed the exciting future prospects for the titanium industry.
He also thanked NAMTEC for their excellent organisation of the event.
He went on to refer to the benefits, for all participants, which can be derived by taking advantage of the networking possibilities being developed in the sector, whether this is through the Yorkshire Forward cluster work, lead by Richard Wright, or through the Titanium Information Group or the Special Metals Forum, both of which are being facilitated by NAMTEC. He urged those who were not already participants to sign up for one or both of these as a way of keeping their company in the forefront of industry developments.
Finally, he drew attention to the Symposium location on the Advanced Manufacturing Park. He pointed out the growing reputation of the Park as the premier location for companies who are keen to be located alongside of some of the most respected innovators in manufacturing and special metals applications. He urged anybody thinking of establishing a manufacturing/research presence or relocating one, to give the Park serious consideration and to contact Renaissance South Yorkshire to explore possibilities.
